Your new role

As the EHS Officer (12‑month contract), you will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement across the site's EHS Management System. Reporting to the EHS Lead, you'll provide frontline support across risk management, occupational safety, incident prevention, and environmental protection.

Key responsibilities include:

* Ensuring compliance with NSW WHS legislation, GMP requirements, and global EHS standards.
* Leading risk assessments, SWMS, and JSEAs across manufacturing, R&D, and laboratory environments.
* Managing hazardous chemicals registers, SDS libraries, and ensuring safe storage, labelling, and segregation.
* Supporting fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, and response drills.
* Delivering engaging EHS training, toolbox talks, and inductions, with a focus on building a "Home Safe, Every Day" culture.
* Coordinating contractor safety, permits‑to‑work, and compliance monitoring.
* Driving proactive inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring programs.

What you'll need to succeed

We are seeking a motivated EHS professional with:

* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher) or relevant tertiary qualification.
* 2+ years' experience in EHS within pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing environments.
* Strong knowledge of GMP compliance and pharmaceutical safety standards.
* Demonstrated expertise in fire safety, hazardous chemicals, and risk management.
* Experience delivering training programs and building safety culture across diverse teams.
* Knowledge of, and experience working with NSW WHS Act 2011, WHS Regulation 2017, and SafeWork NSW guidance.
