Job Overview
Treatment Technicians are essential to delivering clean, reliable drinking water and treating sewage in an environmentally acceptable manner.
* Operate treatment plants and manage reservoirs, booster stations, and sewer pumping stations to meet industry standards.
* Conduct chemical testing of water and sewage using best practice procedures.
* Develop a schedule for chemical testing to optimize treatment plant performance.
* Respond to service failures via SCADA alarms outside regular working hours.
* Maintain accurate databases and schedules on computers.
* Hold a Certificate III in Water Operations (Treatment) or equivalent within two years.
* Have experience in the water industry, particularly in treating water and wastewater.
* possess teamwork and administrative skills with literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills.
* Experience with SCADA/telemetry systems is desirable.
