About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our high performing team. The role will be responsible for providing professional technical advice, analysis and undertake technical project delivery and reports whilst ensuring the maintenance of the laboratory, databases and equipment.
About the Job:
Provide professional technical advice, analysis and undertake reporting within the laboratory, including the following:
* 8:6 alternating day/night roster - FIFO
* Process solids and solutions including final product;
* Identification of extreme results and recommending further analytical tests;
* Identification of anomalous data in various forms and implement appropriate actions to rectify errors;
* Metallurgical, chemical and production process investigations to optimise plant and wellfield performance;
* Data collection and collation, including the application of relevant physical or chemical equations;
* Undertake basic statistical analysis methods.
Desirable qualifications, knowledge and experience.
* Knowledge of XRF analysis
* Familiarity with calibration of laboratory equipment
* Certificate III Level Qualification or higher
* Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry would be highly regarded
Essential Qualities and Attributes:
* Solid laboratory experience within the industry;
* Understanding of key chemistry fundamentals, including an understanding of concepts such as anionic and cationic compounds,
x-ray fluorescence, pH, conductivity and potential;
* Well-developed mathematical and analysis skills;
* The ability to use standard Microsoft Office spreadsheet and word processing programs.
* Applies innovate and modern thinking to solve problems.
