(pro-rata) + Superannuation Salary Sacrifice Benefits Location: Based at either Modbury Hospital Pharmacy (Modbury ****) or Lyell McEwin Hospital Pharmacy (Elizabeth Vale ****) Full Time, Permanent Role About the Role Join our hospital pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Assistant / Senior Pharmacy Assistant (AHA1/AHA2) and play a vital role in supporting safe, timely and effective medication services for inpatients and outpatients.
Working alongside pharmacists and multidisciplinary colleagues, you'll contribute to a welcoming, organised and patient-focused pharmacy environment where every interaction supports quality care and positive health outcomes This multi-class opportunity supports development and progression.
At AHA1, the role provides structured training and hands-on experience, with a clear pathway to progress to AHA2 following completion of a relevant Certificate III or six months of continuous employment.
At AHA2, you'll take on increased responsibility, including more complex dispensing activities, inventory management, stock maintenance, technical support to staff and assisting with daily workflow organisation.
Across both levels, you'll work with pharmacy management systems, comply with legislative and PBS requirements, assist with manufacturing activities where required, and contribute to safe, efficient pharmacy operations across sites.
About You To succeed in this multi-class Pharmacy Assistant / Senior Pharmacy Assistant role (AHA1/AHA2), you'll bring a strong customer-focused mindset, a commitment to safe pharmacy practice, and the capability to develop your skills within a supportive healthcare team.
Qualifications progression: Eligible and willing to undertake Certificate III training (AHA1), or eligible through experience and/or holding or undertaking a relevant Certificate III or above (AHA2).
Skills personal attributes: Sound arithmetic and written communication skills, strong organisation and attention to detail, good technical and data entry skills, and the physical capability to safely undertake manual tasks.
Teamwork communication: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, accept supervision, and progressively work with greater autonomy (AHA2).
Experience knowledge: Experience in a service or pharmacy environment, understanding of patient confidentiality and ethical practice, with AHA2 applicants bringing proven pharmacy experience, proficiency in pharmacy management systems, and sound knowledge of pharmaceutical products, PBS and dispensing processes.
