The Role: Accountant (Pathway to Client Manager)
This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your accounting career with full training and support.
You'll work closely with senior staff and the Director, learning the technical, interpersonal, and advisory skills needed to eventually manage your own client portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
As you develop, you will:
* Assist in preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS & IAS
* Support the team with compliance work and day-to-day accounting tasks
* Learn how to manage workflow and meet deadlines
* Gain exposure to indirect tax obligations (e.g., payroll tax, workers comp)
* Assist with research on tax matters and planning strategies
* Develop client communication skills with opportunities to sit in on meetings
* Stay updated on industry changes and evolving legislation
* Build toward confidently managing your own clients with guidance
What We're Looking For
Were looking for someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and passionate about a career in public practice.
You will ideally bring:
* A completed Accounting or Commerce degree
* Eligibility or interest in commencing CA/CPA studies
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
* Good communication skills and a willingness to ask questions
* The ability to work both independently and within a team
* Basic knowledge of Xero or MYOB (bonus, not essential)
