Description
We are seeking a hands-on Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The key focus of this role is to undertake the maintenance and repairs of Downer's owned plant used by the local Operations across both the Workshop and Field Services. The position provides technical expertise, allocates the necessary resources and adopts Downer Zero Harm principles to provide efficient service delivery and promote equipment availability.
This role is ideally suited to candidates with strong exposure across Heavy Vehicles, Road Transport or Road Building Plant.
About You
* Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Technician / Fitter or Equivalent (essential)
* Exposure across Road Transport, Civil Construction, Mining or similar sectors
* Track record of workshop supervision with proven leadership and coaching skills (preferred)
* Strong fault-finding skills and break down support
* Exposure scheduling maintenance over large geographically disperse areas
* Timely and quality decision making, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
* Computer literacy, with knowledge of Excel & the MS Office suite, will be highly regarded.

The pay range for this role will be $88,000 - $91,000 base per annum.
