Graduate Engineer – Signals and Communications role offering a 2-year structured program with Hancock Iron Ore in Perth, focusing on rail asset management and engineering rotations.

Your Role

Here's what you will be doing:

* Participate in a structured two-year Graduate Program with rotations across FIFO and Perth locations
* Gain broad exposure to the full lifecycle of Signals and Communications systems and asset management practices
* Rotate through Rail Reliability Engineering, Engineering Excellence Group (EEG), Remote Operations Centre (ROC), and Signals and Communications Maintenance Team
* Engage in engineering governance, log analysis, system maintenance, reliability engineering, and asset management
* Work with Train Control Systems, Automatic Train Protection, Interlocking Systems, TETRA, backbone transmission, WiMAX, asset protection systems, and level crossings
* Collaborate with vendors and industry experts
* Gather, analyse, and structure data to support engineering and operational reporting
* Assess business needs using asset management tools and contribute to improvement initiatives
* Work closely with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders including Train Controllers, Train Drivers, Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, and operational leaders
About You

The company is looking for:

* Recent university graduates (within the past two years) with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Control Systems, Mechatronics, Electronics, Communications, or Electrical Engineering
* Motivated and enthusiastic about developing a career in rail signals and communications within a large-scale mining operation
* Strong academic background aligned with Hancock Iron Ore's values
* Curious and flexible mindset, enjoys tackling challenges and problem-solving
* Keen to learn and adapt to new challenges and environments
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Enjoys working as part of a high performing, collaborative team with responsibility, autonomy, and ability to influence outcomes
* Legally permitted to work permanently in Australia
