Overview
About the role: Uniting has casual opportunities supporting the PSP casework team on the Mid-North Coast. The successful applicants must be available to work both weekdays and on weekends as well as flexible hours. Office locations are Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
As a Casework Support Worker, you'll walk alongside children, families, carers and Caseworkers—helping to create safe, stable and grounded care environments. You'll play a key role in organising and supervising family time, arranging respite placements, transporting children and young people, and stepping in to support casework tasks when needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow in the PSP space, gaining experience and confidence in a supportive, culturally safe environment. About You in the Role
* Supervise and support culturally safe family time between children and their families.
* Arrange respite placements and provide transport for children and young people as needed.
* Assist in completing necessary casework tasks, including basic paperwork, case file notes, and supporting visits.
* Help facilitate connections between children and their broader kin, community, and culture.
* Collaborate with Caseworkers and the clinical team on strategies and support plans for children and carers.
* Provide support during placement changes or breakdowns, ensuring smooth transitions.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure administrative requirements are met.
* Occasionally step in to assist or cover for Caseworkers as needed.
* Travel across the Mid-North Coast to support face-to-face engagement with families and communities.
About You
* Certificate IV (minimum) in Community Services or enrolled and working towards a social service qualification
* You're passionate about helping children and young people stay safe and connected to their family, extended family and community.
* You're flexible, reliable and ready to jump in where support is needed.
* You communicate with care, clarity and cultural respect.
* You're ready to travel across Mid-North Coast to support children and families on their journey.
* You hold a current driver's licence and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
