**The Role**
Are you interested in supporting challenging and complex commercial activities in a agile and changing environment?
Do you want to:
- Support the development and maintenance of the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite of templates to ensure legal compliance and commercial best practice?
- Provide SPOs and stakeholders guidance on ASDEFCON-related acquisition and sustainment queries and issues?
- Support the implementation of Acquisition Sustainment Procurement Reform?
- Liaise with Defence groups, Defence industry, and other Government Departments?
- Make a real contribution to the Defence of our nation?
You will report to the Director ACI and work within a team directly supporting Defence business with best-practice commercial templates and guidance. Your career development will be supported and you will broaden your commercial skills, working knowledge and network through being a member of the cohort of procurement and contracting professionals within Commercial Division.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
The ASDEFCON & Contracting Initiatives team is a small, close-knit team of experienced and supportive commercial professionals. The team develops and maintains the commercial elements of the ASDEFCON suite of contracting templates and manages contracting initiatives to reduce the cost of tendering and improve commercial outcomes.
As an ASDEFCON Contracting Manager you will be:
- A critical thinker and an effective communicator, able to distil and document complex concepts in clear language.
- Confident and professional when engaging with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels of seniority.
- Highly motivated and solutions focused, with the ability to translate policy into practical guidance that supports procurement and contracting practitioners.
- Able to work in a collaborative team environment and achieve shared objectives.
As an ASDEFCON Contracting Manager you will have:
- Demonstrated commercial experience in a procurement and/or contracting related role, including experience using the ASDEFCON templates, in either the public or private sector; and
- Demonstrated experience implementing commercial policy, with a track record in delivering products and services.
