**About our client**:
Our Client brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build and operate Victoria's transport system for all users. Their job is to further integrate the transport network and improve the delivery of services to Victorians for simpler, quicker and safer journeys that connect people and places and support Victoria's prosperity and liveability.
Our client is responsible for providing business enabling people and corporate services functions, that drive a high-performance culture and to support integrated operations.

**About the role**:
**Effective People Leadership** -has provided effective leadership, people management and support to their
team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services
required.
**Effective Risk Management** -has ensured risks are effectively managed and the Department complies
with standing directives on risk.
**Continuous Improvement** - continuous improvement practices have been applied to ensure lessons learnt
from risk experiences have been captured and measures are put in place.
**Increased Awareness** - visibility of current and emerging risks has been raised across the Department and
senior leaders have been provided insights to address emerging strategic and shared risks.
**Stakeholder engagement** - the Department is represented at key internal and external meetings,
governance forums and committees including WoVG forums, and key relationships are maintained to build
collaboration, share better practices and build capability.
**Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.**

**About you**:

- Systems Thinking (Accomplished) - Diagnoses trends, obstacles and opportunities in the internal and external environment that connect to own work and teams work; Coaches others in using systems thinking to solve problems and create solutions; Understands the linkages between systems and communities to inform policy; Conceptualises and defines the systems working within the organisation.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (Accomplished) - Takes into account wider business context within business unit when considering options to resolve issues. Identifies recurring problems and prevents future recurrence by integrating solutions into work process. Delivers tangible business outcomes as a result of critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions.
- Political and Organisational Context (Applied) - Understands issues and pressures to which the organisation has to respond; Understands the reasons behind the organisational climate and culture.
- Develop Capability (Accomplished) - Develops and applies frameworks to develop capability at organisation level; Clearly defines role expectations, monitors performance, provides timely and constructive feedback and facilitates employee development; Empowers others by providing them with the authority and latitude to accomplish tasks; Creates learning opportunities and appropriately delegates responsibilities to further the development of others.
- Influence and Persuasion (Applied) - Consistently adapts the content, style, message or tone of a presentation to suit the audience and plans how to tackle objections; Applies own ideas by linking them to others' values, needs and goals
- Resilience (Leading) - Creates a climate which encourages and supports openness, persistence and genuine debate around critical issues. Provides sound explanation and argument for agreed positions.
- Outcomes Thinking (Accomplished) - Establishes mechanisms to monitor impact of work on the community; Ensures team/ organisation's operating and delivery model is designed in ways that creates a positive impact on community.
- Working Collaboratively (Leading) - Build a culture of collaboration across the organisation; Looks for
and facilitates opportunities to collaborate with external stakeholders; Identifies and overcomes barriers to
communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of implementing risk management frameworks based on ISO 31000 in a complex organisation
- Experience in leading teams to ensure team members are engaged, work is prioritised and business objectives achieved to high standards.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in risk management, audit or a related discipline (desirable).
