About the Roles
Consultive is working with several leading civil contractors delivering major infrastructure works across Melbourne's northern corridor. We're seeking Site, Project and Senior Project Engineers to join high performing delivery teams on a range of large scale transport projects.
These roles span complex rail and road environments including tunnel construction, freeway widening, major structures, large pavement programs, bridge works, utilities re-locations, and civil packages associated with major rail interchange developments. Additional opportunities exist on aviation related expansion works requiring engineers with strong civil and services experience.
Engineers with experience across heavy pavements, fuel infrastructure, and tender preparation will be particularly well suited, with opportunities to support both delivery and pre-contracts functions depending on background.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Engineer – Typically responsible for day to day site delivery and supporting the project team with technical and quality focused tasks. A Site Engineer is hands on in the field, ensuring works are set out correctly, coordinating trades, maintaining documentation, and providing immediate engineering support to supervisors and subcontractors.
* Project Engineer – Takes ownership of defined project packages, managing planning, coordination, and progress of specific scopes. A Project Engineer leads technical delivery, oversees subcontractor performance, drives program outcomes, handles procurement for allocated works, and ensures quality, commercial and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
* Senior Project Engineer – Provides leadership across multiple work fronts or major packages. A Senior Project Engineer mentors junior engineers, drives program and budget performance, leads stakeholder coordination, resolves complex engineering challenges, and plays a key role in planning, forecasting and risk management to support the Project Manager.
About You
* Proven civil engineering experience on major infrastructure projects
* Background in heavy pavements, fuel lines/utilities, aviation civils, earthworks, civil structures, road/bridge construction or tendering is highly desirable
* Confident managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
* Ability to work in fast paced environments with evolving priorities
