Job Description:
We are seeking a talented User Interface Programmer to join our team at Big Ant Studios, located in Melbourne.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge engine technology and create user interfaces that complement the gameplay visuals and experience.
The Role:
- Collaborate with our lead engineer to develop UI features and systems
- Work closely with our UI designers to craft exceptional user experiences
- Create and maintain technical design documents to ensure seamless project execution
- Self-manage programming task schedules and coordinate with our production team to meet project milestones
- Review and optimize user interface performance to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Consult with UI designers to guarantee optimal user experience and performance
You Will Thrive In This Role If:
- You have shipped at least one game as a UI engineer for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, 360, PC, or MacOS
- You possess proficiency in C++
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- You excel at working with designers and artists to bring the game vision to life
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with WPF is a plus
- You understand the performance/memory constraints of building game UI
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Lua, Python) is beneficial
- You possess good debugging skills
Bonus Points For:
- 2+ years of programming experience
- Experience on the current generation of consoles (PS4, Xbox One)
- Knowledge of NoesisGUI or other UI development tools like QT
- Familiarity with design patterns (MVC/MVVM)
- Working knowledge of C#
- An interest in sports is a bonus
