Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Professional Engineer specializing in Bridges, Structures, and Ports to join our dynamic engineering team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, and delivery of complex structural and maritime infrastructure projects. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that meet rigorous engineering standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a commitment to delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze bridge structures, including preliminary design, detailed engineering, and construction documentation using industry‐standard software and methodologies
- Develop structural solutions for port and maritime infrastructure projects, including wharves, breakwaters, and marine facilities
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, calculations, and technical specifications for project stakeholders and regulatory authorities
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural requirements into overall project delivery
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols
- Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing structures and identify design constraints
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with demonstrated expertise in bridge design and/or port infrastructure projects
- Strong proficiency with structural analysis and design software including AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent programs
- In‐depth knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for structural design
- Solid understanding of bridge engineering principles, including load analysis, material selection, and construction methodologies
- Experience with port and maritime infrastructure design, including knowledge of hydraulic modeling and marine environmental considerations
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and geotechnical analysis as it relates to structural design
- Professional engineering license or eligibility for registration with Engineers Australia is preferred
- Experience working on large‐scale infrastructure projects in the Australian market is advantageous
