This is a 6 month fixed term, part-time (0.92 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension (6 months) and/or permanency.

Broome is located on the shores of Roebuck Bay in the Kimberley region of Australia, 2200 km from Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. The area has a unique blend of Asian, European and Indigenous cultures and is the traditional home of the Yawuru and Djugun people.
The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will use your interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers and colleagues to create an inclusive education programme that accommodates the needs of students. You will support the delivery of planned education programmes, using your understanding of differentiation and intervention strategies to assist students with disabilities in accessing the curriculum. Experience in supporting students with diverse needs is highly desirable.
Special Needs Education Assistants deliver individual and small group programmes, which may include the use of digital technologies or physical materials. Under teacher direction, you will employ innovative and unique strategies that promote inclusive learning, emotional regulation and general well‐being. You will also engage with external services and families to collaboratively plan for students' needs.

* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
