About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Young Adults Mental Health Specialist. This is a fixed-term part-time position available until 30 June 2028.
In this role, you will provide psychological support to young adults (aged 15–25) diagnosed with cancer and their family members or carers. You will work with individuals facing a range of psychological, emotional, and medical challenges related to cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Duties
* Provide evidence-based assessment and intervention for psychological problems in young adults with cancer and their families.
* As a member of a multidisciplinary team, conduct psychological assessments and plan appropriate action.
* Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and document assessments, interventions, case plans, and other significant information.
* Participate in clinical research and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice.
Requirements
* Australia-wide recognition as a Clinical Psychologist by AHPRA.
* A postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognized University.
* Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based psychology practices for common psychological disorders in adolescents and young adults with cancer.
* Experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy and other evidence-based interventions in individual and group settings.
* Ability to participate in hospital-based and community-based multidisciplinary teams.
* Interest in psycho-oncology research.
