Join our Part-Time Mental Health Registered Nurse role at Serco to provide essential support to active ADF members. Deliver evidence-based care in a nurturing environment as part of a dedicated team delivering top-tier mental health services.
As the Mental Health Registered Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team delivering top-quality mental health services. Your responsibilities include risk assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation, medication management, and additional support services as needed. You will receive robust support for crisis management, risk assessment, and risk management planning from the multidisciplinary team and the Senior Mental Health team for your region.
About Us ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. Serco, in partnership with Bupa, provides defence-ready clinical and support staff across 50+ on-base locations nationally, ensuring ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
About the Location Stirling Health Centre is located approximately 45km south of Perth on Garden Island. The base supports RAN ships, submarines and aircraft based in WA, including training and health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements). This role is available in full time, part time and casual basis.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to patients.
* Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention.
* Participate in case formulation and medication management.
* Provide additional support services as needed within a multidisciplinary team.
* Utilise risk management planning with support from the Senior Mental Health team for your region.
Ideal Applicant Requirements
* A current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia with AHPRA.
* Credentialing with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN), or a minimum qualification of Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
* At least 2 years' full-time equivalent post-graduate work experience in mental health, including comprehensive assessments and delivery of evidence-based focused psychological strategies as per Medicare Schedule in the last 5 years.
* A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
* Familiarity with relevant State/Territory policies, national standards, and the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 (preferred).
* Recent engagement in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities, with a minimum of 10 hours directly related to mental health, aligned with AHPRA guidelines.
