Senior Contracts Specialist – Pre Construction

Tier 1 electrical contractor that work with major builder clients across Australia and New Zealand. Project types include; commercial, infrastructure, data centres, retail, health and defence.
Position
An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced contracts / senior contracts specialist to join the team based in the Western Sydney office. The role will report into the commercial director and be part of a team that is accountable for managing risk at pre contract sign stage.
You will lead a team of more junior contracts officers and be accountable for contract review and negotiation with the builder clients. The role will include;
* Review terms and conditions in contracts (including departures)
* Review and negotiate preferred wording and terms for legal mitigation
* Support various teams for contract execution
* Train teams for contract review and the company’s risk profile
* Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
You
To be successful you will have worked in a similar role previous where you have reviewed contracts with clients within the construction and / or infrastructure sectors.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following;
* Contract review and negotiation skills
* Review contracts from tier 1 builders, such as; Multiplex, John Holland, Lendlease, CPB, etc (desirable)
* Attention to detail and meticulous
* Team player
* Solid understanding of construction and potential contractual issues that can arise
