Overview
Senior IT System Lead (Level 2/3) role at Patterson Cheney Cars and Trucks in Keysborough. Provides level 2/3 support to a team of over 800 users.
This IT position suits someone who wants to make a real difference to the business and who has a strong understanding of Networking and Security, with day-to-day management experience of Microsoft Intune and Office 365 in a hybrid environment. Responsibilities
- Respond to support requests received in person, via phone, email, and internal ticketing systems.
- Assess the disruption level of issues and respond to ensure timely resolution.
- Communicate with staff regarding resolutions and any available workarounds while issues are resolved.
- Collaborate with IT team members to ensure issues are addressed without duplication of effort.
- Set up new equipment as required.
- Provide feedback and support to the IT Manager to address issues and prevent future occurrences.
What we are looking for
You will be a well-rounded IT professional with strong communication skills and a Networking and Security mindset. The IT Manager and team support this role. You will be excited by the opportunity and roadmap ahead.
Requirements: a university qualification in IT or equivalent experience, experience supporting a large and complex organisation, and enjoyment working with an IT team.
Technical experience include:
- Windows Server Administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Extensive Windows desktop support for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022
- Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, Microsoft Entra ID
- Knowledge of Group Policy, AD, DNS, DHCP
- Mobility, Remote Access, Proxies, Networking and Cyber Security
- Virtualisation – VMware
- Printer and peripheral support (e.g., iPhone/Samsung)
- PowerShell and scripting
- Understanding of the Essential 8 cybersecurity framework
Desirable (not essential)
- Car dealership experience
- Certifications in MCP, MCSA, MCSE
- Excellent phone manners, presentation, and transparent spoken communication
Note: Occasional travel to sites around Melbourne may be required; a current Australian driver’s licence is preferred.
