Your Opportunity
This position provides the chance to join a busy Oncology Unit already staffed by dedicated medical oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals. There is an opportunity for the right applicant to take on a leadership role within the team, and further develop the existing oncology service, especially in clinical research.
About the Unit
The Oncology Unit at Mackay Base Hospital currently has three experienced part-time medical oncologists. We provide inpatient ward rounds and daily outpatient clinical services including telehealth to regional hospitals. Our day unit is staffed by trained oncology nurses and pharmacists and administers treatments five days per week.
Remuneration and Benefits
Remuneration value up to $483,619 p.a. comprising salary between $215,078 p.a.- $249,046 p.a. (L18-L24) or remuneration value up to $528,464 p.a. comprising salary between $256,246 p.a - $271,430 p.a. (L25-L27);

Mandatory Qualifications/Professional Registration/Other Requirements
- Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and specialist registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in Medical Oncology.
- Candidates must provide certified copies of requested proof of identify documents for the purposes of general Criminal history and National Police Certificate checks.
VPD Requirements
It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the role description.
