The Role We are seeking an individual to take on the opportunity of an experienced Agronomist, based in or around the Cowra region. In this role you will work closely with the Southern NSW team and become an integral member of a widespread and highly experienced agronomy team that consisting of over 80 agronomists across Australia.

Working with existing clients to provide advice on the full range of agronomic and farm management topics, for mixed farming enterprises. This includes whole farm planning (crop & livestock), seasonal strategies, plant nutrition, pest, disease & weed management knowledge, techniques and strategies through all stages of the production cycle for both crop and pasture. Develop relationships with new clients by maximising opportunities for the promotion of agronomic services and farm consulting services.Partnering with clients to maximise farm profitability through farm management strategies for increased crop and pasture production utilising cost effective solutions.Help drive the adoption of new and evolving technologies including precision agriculture and sensor technology.Assist in the successful running and co-ordination of field days, farmer meetings and research trials, with additional skills in writing technical and management articles where required.
What’s different about this roleWhile working closely with the merchandise team, the role is 100% dedicated to agronomy, farm advisory and customer service.Established farm consultancy program and client base devoted to long term planning and advice.Supported by 6 experienced agronomists and farm consultants locally and 25 in southern NSW who meet every 6 weeks to discuss agronomic and management strategies and the latest relevant local research.Established precision ag team who work alongside the advisors to help collect, analyse and implement data and subsequent recommendations.
To be successful in the role you will Have a degree in agronomy or tertiary qualification of similar nature and must have experience a desired of 5 years' experience in mixed farming agronomy.You must have a commitment to achieving team goals, highly developed interpersonal skills and dedication to customer service. An understanding of the products, seasonal timing, and general requirements of rural producers within the area. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Genuine interest in both winter cereal cropping and mixed farming systems.Have a passion for driving whole farm performance through field-centric technology.Commitment to innovation and sustainable agronomic and farm management practices.
