Software Engineer
Location: Perth (WA)
Join Honeywell's Software Centre in Perth and be part of a team of passionate and highly talented software engineers responsible for developing Honeywell's global next‐generation enterprise data intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain web applications using a modern stack that includes Node, React, Vite, Postgres, Redis, and SNS – all within AWS infrastructure.
* Write clean, maintainable TypeScript code with a focus on scalability and readability.
* Analyze complex requirements to translate them into clear, actionable Jira tickets and actively engage in Scrum rituals such as retrospectives, grooming/planning, and daily stand‐ups.
* Collaborate with cross‐functional product teams, review code, and offer constructive suggestions.
* Write unit and integration tests and develop end‐to‐end automation using Playwright and Cypress.
* Integrate with third‐party APIs (e.g., Slack, Azure, access control systems) and develop internal frameworks to support external integrations.
* Manage source control via Bitbucket, using Bitbucket Pipelines for build automation.
* Provide operational support for the product, responding to production alarms on a rostered basis during business hours.
Experience & Capabilities
* 2–5 years of software engineering experience, familiar with analysis, design, coding, testing and support of software.
Essential
* Passion for software and the eagerness to quickly master new technologies and skills.
* Passion for modern tools and practices, including AI tools, and a hunger to develop new skills and knowledge.
* Ability to work effectively with various roles in other locations.
* Aptitude for complex problem solving and first‐class customer support.
* Ability to integrate well in a team of highly experienced software engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
* Hands‐on experience with Industrial Historians (including Honeywell PHD).
* AI and analytics experience, including use of AI development tools.
* Experience in C, C++.
* Experience in C# .NET.
* Experience administering and deploying solutions to cloud environments including Azure, Google Cloud, and/or AWS.
* Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.
