Internal Secondment Opportunity: Payroll Officer (10-Month Secondment and no experience needed)

We’re excited to offer a fantastic contract/secondment opportunity for either an external or internal candidate to join our dynamic Payroll team at Collins Foods. As a Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our payroll functions for over 17,500 employees across multiple locations. This is a chance to gain valuable experience in a high-volume payroll environment while contributing to the success of our team!
About You
You’re a proactive and detail-oriented individual, with no experience needed as all training will be provided. You’ll bring:
* You’ve proven yourself reliable in your current role, consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality
* You already understand internal systems, policies, and values, which gives you a head start in adapting to the payroll function ( internal Only)
* You take pride in being thorough and accurate — key traits for handling payroll data and calculations
* You're enthusiastic about developing your career within the company and are committed to learning through the full training provided
* You’re confident using spreadsheets, systems, or databases, and enjoy working with structured information
* You work well with colleagues across departments and are approachable when it comes to resolving queries or sharing information
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Payroll Officer, you’ll work closely with the other Payroll Officers in the team who support our Senior Payroll Officers, Payroll Supervisor, and Payroll Manager to assist in the seamless processing of our weekly payroll. Key responsibilities include:
* Support the processing of the weekly payroll cycle (17,500+ employees)
* Action weekly exception reporting
* Identify timesheet errors and assist stores with corrections
* Lifelenz (‘Time & Attendance system’) processing, including the export of times worked into the payroll system (Not essential for external )
* Public Holiday processing
* Processing of Team Member payroll transactions including leave processing, termination payments, new employees, timecard and award interpretation, deduction and allowance processing, staff transfers and position changes
* Customer Service tasks such as emails and answering the payroll telephone hotline
* Other duties as required
