About the Role
The Metallurgical Technician supports the metallurgical team by organizing and executing timely and accurate sampling and analysis of process streams. This includes completing lab-scale test work and contributing to mill performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collect and prepare mill samples, perform lab test work, and analyze process streams to support the metallurgical team.
* Operate and monitor the Acacia system and gravity circuit, ensuring consistent and accurate data collection from mill processes.
* Maintain and calibrate metallurgical field analyzers and process sampling equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Prepare analytical reagents and assist with reagent quality control, usage tracking, and cost-saving initiatives.
* Record and analyze data using Microsoft Excel and prepare production reports to support process improvements.
* Assist in implementing metallurgical changes and train plant operators on best practices and safety compliance.
* Identify safety and environmental hazards, maintaining a clean and contamination-free work area in line with OHS&E standards.
Requirements:
* Higher Secondary Education: NATIN/AMTO - Chemical Analyst or Mine Engineering, with 2-5 years of related experience.
* Strong understanding of optimizing mill throughput and recovery, with working knowledge of milling methods and procedures.
* Experience in a gold processing plant is considered an asset.
* Good observational, analytical, and reporting skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English; Mandarin is an asset.
