The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project, delivered by Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), is introducing state-of-the-art double-deck, walk-through trains designed for comfort, advanced communication, and long-distance travel. These modern trains will service Newcastle, Blue Mountains, South Coast, and Central Coast lines.
RailConnect NSW, a consortium of Hyundai Rotem Company, UGL Rail Services Pty Ltd, and Mitsubishi Electric Australia Pty Ltd, is proud to deliver this ground-breaking project.
This role requires attendance at an initial training program at our Kangy Angy site on the Central Coast. The duration of work at Kangy Angy training is currently projected for approx. 2-4 months, until deployment of revenue services onto the Western line and an outstation facility is established at the location. For the duration of work at Kangy Angy we've got you covered with accommodation, meal allowances or travel allowances.
About the Role
We are looking for skilled Mobile Technicians to play a critical role in maintaining and ensuring the reliability of this cutting-edge fleet.
* Perform planned and corrective maintenance across Mobile Support regions.
* Download, analyse, and interpret train system/sub-system data logs and take appropriate actions.
* Use your knowledge and experience in rolling stock to perform fault-finding and troubleshooting tasks.
* Ensure trains meet Minimum Operating Standards (MOS) for seamless operation on the network.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance and repair tasks as per approved procedures.
* Work independently or as part of a team to complete high-priority jobs.
* Document all work performed using electronic systems to the required standard.
* Provide guidance to train crew, consortium partner staff, and other stakeholders.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues in rolling stock electrical and pneumatic systems.
* Follow safety and operational procedures to mitigate risks in the rolling stock maintenance environment.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Relevant trade certification (Certificate III or IV in Mechanical or Electrical trades, or assessed equivalent).
* Valid NSW Driver's Licence.
* Strong technical understanding of electrical and pneumatic schematics.
* Proven fault-finding skills in electrical and pneumatic systems.
* Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in operational rolling stock maintenance (corrective and preventative).
