About us:
We are seeking a skilled Electronics and Communications Technician to join our team in Williamtown, NSW for a 2 year fixed term. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production, modification, and maintenance of various equipment and systems under technical supervision.
About the Program
The Tactical Air Defence Radar System (TADRS) is a deployable tactical air defence radar that enables air surveillance, command and control functions in support of military and humanitarian missions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
* Construct and test electrical, data, and RF cables using approved schematics, drawings, and instructions.
* Integrate hardware, electronic, mechanical, and optical equipment according to engineering-approved installation guidelines.
* Conduct post-installation alignment, adjustment, and comprehensive production testing of equipment using simple and complex test equipment.
* Troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty Repairable Items (RI's) and hardware post-production testing to ensure compliance with approved design specifications.
* Utilise hand and small power tools, various measuring and testing devices in performing duties.
* Proactively identify production efficiencies and communicate them to supervisors.
* Perform any additional duties as required.
About you:
* Certificate III or above in Communications/Electronics or equivalent relevant experience.
* Proficient in interpreting technical documents and solving electronic system/equipment problems.
* Skilled in maintaining production tooling, equipment, and demonstrating expert hand skills in soldering and repair.
* Maintain accountability of parts and equipment, with strong technical documentation skills.
Desirable
* Understanding of Configuration Management and Quality Assurance principles.
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
