Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Optimization Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes and ensuring the highest quality standards.
Your primary focus will be on producing high-quality 2D engineering drawings and 3D models based on agreed design philosophies. You will work closely with manufacturing departments and technical staff to support the production of precision components.
* Produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD software.
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure they can meet specified tolerances and accuracies.
* Propose cost-effective solutions to minimize production costs without compromising quality.
* Design new tooling and fixtures when necessary, understanding work-holding principles.
* Efficiently issue, store, and archive designs, calculations, and drawings for easy retrieval.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes. Your qualifications should include:
* A HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
* Proficiency in using AutoCAD software for producing detailed engineering drawings.
* In-depth understanding of design for manufacture and manufacturing processes.
* Experience in the automotive, power transmission, gear, or calibration industries (advantageous but not essential).
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce drawings to consistent standards.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
