The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been supporting rural and remote communities since 1928. We are currently recruiting for the Emergency Retrieval team for August 2026 and February 2027 start dates. Opportunities are available for Registrars and Consultants (full‐time and part‐time).
A Day in the Life of a Retrieval Registrar
No two days or two patients will be the same. Rotations take place at our bases in Dubbo and Broken Hill and at local rural hospitals.
Who are we looking for?
* Minimum five years of post‐graduate experience.
* Advanced trainee level from CICM, ACEM, ANZCA, ACRRM (or equivalent overseas colleges).
* Minimum 18 months in critical care (ED and ICU) and six months in anaesthetics.
* Experience managing critically ill patients, including trauma.
* Ideally completed ALS, APLS, ATLS (or equivalent).
* Recent practice in a critical care environment.
