About the role
This is a practical, hands-on leadership role delivering reactive parks maintenance and minor asset works across the City of Greater Dandenong.
As Crew Leader Reserve Response, you''ll work side by side with your team of five Reserve Response Officers to complete a wide range of tasks that help keep parks secure, functional and welcoming. The role focuses on responding to maintenance requests from the public, resolving customer service issues, and supporting other Parks teams during high workload periods or seasonal peaks.
You''ll take the lead in planning daily tasks, guiding your crew on-site, and ensuring minor repairs, asset maintenance and presentation works are delivered efficiently. The role also supports Council''s asset renewal and improvement programs — from fixing park furniture and bollards, to repairing fences, minor playground equipment repairs, maintaining signage and supporting small landscape upgrades.
About you
You''re a practical, solutions-focused leader with strong hands-on skills and a trade background, or experience in general maintenance and repair work. You know your way around tools, minor construction, and parks infrastructure, and take pride in being able to fix just about anything.
With experience in parks maintenance, asset renewal or infrastructure programs, you enjoy working as part of a team and stepping into a leadership role when needed. You''re confident planning the day''s work, leading by example on-site, and solving problems as they arise to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes. You''re adaptable, proactive, and comfortable jumping between tasks and park functions to get the job done.
