The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Consultant to join our evolving Finance team on a 12‐month fixed term contract on a part‐time basis. Based at our Melbourne office, this role is central to supporting Keyton's tax compliance, reporting obligations and broader business initiatives.
As a Senior Tax Consultant at Keyton, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our financial integrity and supporting strategic business decisions. This is a dynamic, fast‐paced and highly visible role where your tax expertise will be both challenged and valued.
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of tax compliance and reporting activities, while also contributing to strategic projects by ensuring tax considerations are clearly understood and incorporated.
Reporting to the Head of Tax, your responsibilities include:
* Preparing timely and accurate income tax and GST (BAS) returns for the Keyton business, including complex tax adjustments specific to retirement village operations
* Supporting tax effect accounting for selected corporate entities
* Assisting in the annual trust distribution process through forecasting and analysis
* Participating in the annual FBT compliance cycle, including data preparation, calculations and coordination with internal teams and external advisors
* Supporting implementation and optimisation of tax systems and tools—including income tax, tax provision, FBT applications, BAS software and GST analytics
* Identifying opportunities to enhance tax reporting accuracy and strengthen compliance frameworks
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that streamline tax processes
* Partnering effectively with finance, payroll, legal and external advisors to ensure alignment on tax matters
* Coordinating and reviewing GST returns (BAS) prepared by the Finance team, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Assisting with the administration of land tax obligations and exemptions across multiple jurisdictions
Who You Are
* Tertiary degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting or Finance
* Minimum 3 years' experience in Australian Tax, including income tax, GST and FBT
* Demonstrated experience partnering with both finance and non‐finance stakeholders
* Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
* Strong Excel and/or Power BI skills
* Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively
* Agile mindset with the ability to adapt in a high‐change environment
