This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.
Responsibilities
Identifying what matters for the team and driving initiatives to improve them
Design and implement well-tested and documented software
Debug and fix issues encountered by users
Lead in our engineering process through code and architectural reviews
Contribute to technical documentation to make it the best of its kind
Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
Deploy and operate services developed by the team
Contribute to the success of your product through technical advocacy
Own the development of large projects and encourage rigorous and efficient engineering processes
What we are looking for in you
Curate technical quality standards by designing the architectural approach to support business objectives
Value soft skills and are passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated
Have an exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
Hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or present a compelling narrative about your alternative path
Demonstrate a track record of going above and beyond expectations
Be well-organised, self-starting, and able to deliver to schedule
Show competency in researching new technology or approaches and integrate them tastefully and sustainably into projects
Provide comprehensive and insightful code reviews on items of any size within the project
Have an eye for accessibility and performance
Be proficient in professional written and spoken English
Have experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills
Be result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
Be able to travel twice a year for company events, up to two weeks each
Nice-to-have skills
Experience with container tech such as LXD, Docker and Kubernetes
Experience fostering and maintaining a talented team by defining excellence
REST API design, development and governance
Drive to deliver performance engineering and security experience
