Site Foreman / Leading Hand Carpenter
to join our team and help manage our residential construction projects.
Role Overview
As the Site Foreman / Leading Hand Carpenter, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be leading a team of carpenters and other tradespeople, providing guidance and support, and liaising directly with project managers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the construction site
Lead and coordinate a team of carpenters and subcontractors
Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and safety standards
Read and interpret building plans and blueprints
Assist in the preparation of material orders and site logistics\
Conduct site inductions and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Ensure the site is well-maintained and organized
Report progress to the Project Manager and provide feedback on any issues or delays
Perform hands-on carpentry work when required
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a Carpenter with significant time spent in residential construction (12 years minimum)
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (Foreman or Leading Hand)
Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and construction processes
Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing site conditions
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
White Card and relevant licences
Own tools and transport preferred
