The Application Engineer (AE) provides detailed technical and commercial quotation support to sales representatives and application guidance to customers in order to generate sales. The AE will provide general mixing solutions for a variety of industries. This support is provided via telephone and e-mail. The AE also assists the sales process with training and technical application support offsite through representative and customer visits.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Provide agitator designs and quotations to customers and sales representatives for mixer sales. This includes reviewing detailed customer specifications, defining a mixer process solution to fit the customer’s requirements, mechanical design aspects of mixers and pricing.Provide direct technical support of applications with customers in support of sales. This can include verbal support (telephone), written support and/or onsite support through presentations and process plant audits.Develop technical materials and presentations in support of projects and markets.Maintain quotation logs, schedules and performance measures using assigned tools.Conduct lab tests to develop custom mixing solutions for specific customer requirements. This includes establishing a testing strategy with sales and research and implementing this through hands-on testing in the Process Lab. The AE will be the prime internal contact for overseeing witness tests.Participate in overall office teamwork and recommend process and functional improvements.Must have a strong interaction with the sales, engineering and research organizations within ProQuip Inc.Attend trade shows as requested by sales.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :SKILLSUnderstanding of engineering principles related to mixing process and mixer mechanical design.Ability to read, interpret and accurately respond to technical specifications related to mixer applications and mixer design.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel, Sales Reps and customers.Understands ownership and accountability of assignments.Has the desire to follow projects and capture orders.A team player that uses his/her skills to make the team better.Solid ability to learn mixing products capabilities and limitations.Knowledge of industry engineering standards and mixer capabilities.Good oral and written communications skills; able to provide succinct and accurate technical and business communications.Strong computer skills (MS Office, SAP, Solid Works, AutoCAD, other technical applications).EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a four-year College or University is required.3-5 years sales application related experience is preferred.
