About Us :After a discussion between two paramedic students, they realised the need for higher standards of service and care to patrons at sporting events.
They also felt that it would be beneficial if there was someone who could consult with event organisers about how best provide this type assistance in order better serve their customers.
"Vita First Aid management are driving change by creating standards that can't be compromised, such as engaging professional salaried staff and not volunteers.
They also provide detailed risk analysis for event organisers to make sure they know what resources will be needed at their next outing or festival; using operational medical practices used in state ambulance systems across Australia.
Finally an important point is making sure there's always someone on duty who has experience managing large-scale events like these which require adequate teams managed by an experienced commander ready 24/7Our team of professional first responders have medical training in paramedicine and nursing with many bringing additional skill sets from roles at events such as the security teams, sound and lighting personnel or traffic management services catering staff.
Using our extensive knowledge we will ensure your event requirements are managed to mitigate risk by engaging all stake holders including patrons who might be affected by an emergency situation on-site at their location!About You : Appropriate tertiary qualification/s and registration/s.
Must be registered with AHPRA & provide evidence.
Member of Australian Practice Nurses Association (APNA) recommended.
Current driver's licence Position Summary :As a Registered Paramedic you are responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of the practice and to provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients.

You will also support and assist the medical staff as much as possible each shift.
As this is a specialty area of Paramedicine, you will maintain a professional growth mindset, take advantage of available ongoing professional education provided to you and take responsibility for your ongoing learning.Key Requirements :Ideally minimum of one year's state ambulance service experience.
Experience in similar roles as practice nurse or community-based nursing.
Back ground or training in emergency nursing or occupational health nursing highly beneficialDemonstrated understanding of the needs of general practice and interest and commitment to community-based nursing including patient education, health promotion and lowering patient risk outcomesKnowledge of current immunisation schedules, diabetes management, asthma management, enhanced primary care items, infection control, CPR and emergency resuscitation techniques, equipment and drugsCompetence in the use of relevant equipment and software (desirable)Sound knowledge of current legislation, practice standards, policies, and proceduresDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant health related information systemsDeliver a strong clinical care serviceHave excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiencesAbility to educate patients, family and staffSound planning and organisational skillsJob Responsibility :ClinicalPerform clinical duties within required level of clinical competency, according to best available evidenceExplain your position and procedures to patients, ensuring consent, providing them with support and reassuranceDuties include triage, immunisations and other injections; wound management, chronic disease management, health assessments for target group of individuals, ECG's, spirometry and collection of pathology samplesAssist doctors with patient care and clinical proceduresMaintain accurate clinical documentationPatient ServicesAssist with triage, data management, diagnostic services, networking with other providers, planning & management of patient care and patient advocacyTelephone patients with test results only as directed by general practitioners.
Improvement of patient health outcomesConduct preventative/screening proceduresAssist with patient education and community health promotion activitiesCo-ordinate patient recall, reminder and outreach programs and GP management plans and team care arrangement.
Equipment and SuppliesEnsure sterilisation, maintenance and tracking of clinical equipment as requiredMaintain stocks of clinical supplies, including correct storage (such as refrigeration of vaccines), regular stock rotation, removal of out-of-date stock and ordering suppliesProvide input in purchasing relevant clinical equipment and suppliesShare responsibilities as directed by the infection control co-ordinator and cold chain maintenance co-ordinator and with other nurses at the practiceComplianceMaintain awareness of current and new legislation to ensure business is complying with all statutory and regulatory obligations including infection control, sterilisation, hazardous materials & safe handling/disposal of medical waste, records management, OHS, and accreditation Ensure relevant personnel are kept informed and changes are made to systems and procedures as requiredProfessionalClearly communicates to clinical & reception staff when a paid service is provided from the treatment room to ensure that the practice charges the patient correctly.
Always confirms the cost of the services has been communicated to the patient and that the patient consents to procedure & costs prior to receiving the serviceAct within the practice and nursing code of ethics & appropriate level of clinical competence at all timesMaintain awareness of current evidence and research on clinical practices and inform/educate other practice staffChange systems and procedures to ensure compliance with best available evidence as applicableExcellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groupsAlways be well-presented, friendly, courteous and obligingRepresent the practice in a confident and positive manner at all timesUndertake all duties in a diligent manner, with honesty and integrityMaintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice informationHave a vigilant attitude to accuracy, being prepared to double check as necessaryAbility to work independently when required and cooperatively when working with all other team membersCommunicates with all members of the practice team, suppliers and contractors in respect & professionalism including; verbal & written communicationAbility to prioritise and organise, with attention to detailDemonstrated commitment to ongoing professional developmentSafetyThe practice has indemnity cover however your own professional indemnity cover also is highly recommended.
