Role | Social Worker Location | Katherine, NT Contract Type | Locum | 12-Week Contract (Possible Extension) | Full Time | Rotating Roster with On-Call, Evenings & Weekends About the Role Join the Emergency and Acute Care team in a dynamic hospital environment, providing crisis intervention and short-term support to patients and families. This role requires strong clinical judgement in fast-paced situations and a deep understanding of domestic and family violence, safety planning, and child protection frameworks. You'll work a rotating roster that includes afterhours, weekend, and on-call shifts, with placements required across the Christmas period. Key Responsibilities Provide crisis intervention and short-term social work support Manage complex presentations related to domestic and family violence Conduct safety planning and coordinate with support services Handle child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting Liaise with internal hospital teams and external agencies Contribute effectively to the Emergency and Acute Care multidisciplinary team Skills and Experience Qualified Social Worker Previous hospital experience essential Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention Strong knowledge of domestic & family violence and safety planning Experience managing child protection concerns and mandatory reporting Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and on-call shifts Benefits Up to $74.06 per hour Accommodation provided Travel allowance Supportive team environment About the Location Located in the heart of the Northern Territory, Katherine is known for its rich cultural diversity, strong community connections, and stunning natural landscapes.
