About the opportunity
The University of Sydney School of Dentistry (Sydney Dental School) is ranked amongst the top dental schools internationally and is one of the largest dental schools in Australia. Sydney Dental School has campuses in the Sydney Dental Hospital (in inner-eastern Sydney), the Westmead Centre for Oral Health at Westmead Hospital and the Nepean Centre for Oral Health (in western Sydney), and outreach service-based teaching is undertaken across the state of NSW.
The Senior Lecturer will support the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Surgery) and Graduate Diploma Clinical Dentistry programs as a specialist lecturer and supervisor.
The role will support supervision of students at our Sydney, Westmead and Nepean campuses as well as our rural and remote regional clinic placements.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education focussing on supervising students in the DCD and Grad Dip DCD programs
* design and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements for the DCD and Grad Dip DCD programs
* design and deliver multi-disciplinary work-integrated learning units and content
* apply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate education
* understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty strategic agenda
* engage beyond the University to develop a profile through conferences, seminars and outreach activities that support the DCD and Grad Dip DCD programs
About you
* AHPRA registered
* Bachelor's degree and post graduate qualifications in Oral Surgery
* experience in developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
* experience in people leadership within the higher education sector
* significant experience in supervising and or mentoring students
