The Claims & Assessing Division is dedicated to managing the Claims Process effectively, balancing cost control with the delivery of a seamless and easy customer journey. Our aim is to provide prompt, personalised service while vigilantly managing incurred costs.
Brief Description
This Business Analyst role sits within the Claims & Assessing Design & Delivery Team. This team's core objectives are to:
* Ensure successful delivery of initiatives through expert project and change management
* Partner with the business to define problems and design solutions, leveraging business and process analysis expertise.
* Equip every member of the Claims & Assessing team with the skills and process understanding required for successful change implementation.
* Provide excellent day-to-day operational support.
Reporting to the Change Delivery Manager - Home, the Business Analyst will be instrumental in the successful design and development of solutions for Claims & Assessing. This includes leading analysis activities for new business processes, product enhancements, and operational process improvements. Key responsibilities include defining and documenting business requirements, modelling business processes, drafting IT functional specifications, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
The role
Requirements Gathering & Solution Design
* Lead requirement gathering via workshops, stakeholder engagement, and thorough research.
* Develop clear business process maps to ensure shared understanding.
* Translate business requirements into detailed functional and system specifications for IT solutions.
Quality Assurance & Change Management
* Manage issues and change requests, balancing quality with cost and delivery timelines.
* Oversee testing efforts from planning and execution to final approval, ensuring solutions meet original requirements.
* Monitor post-implementation changes to confirm successful adoption and sustained benefits.
Project & Program Delivery Contribution
* Actively manage key project artefacts such as user requirements, wireframes, and project plans.
* Take accountability for assigned deliverables, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
* Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in collaboration with the business.
* Champion change and foster a continuous improvement culture.
* Cultivate strong internal and external relationships to introduce best practices.
Implementation Support
* Develop and review policy, procedure, training materials, and user guides.
* Create and maintain business process maps and system reference documentation.
General Duties
* Undertake other reasonable duties as required to ensure effective change delivery across Claims & Assessing.
What Experience You'll Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.
* Minimum of 2-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
* Demonstrable experience with Agile and/or Hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) delivery methodologies.
* Strong proficiency in business process modelling (BPMN, Visio), As-Is/To-Be process mapping, and data modelling.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organisational levels.
* Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work autonomously, maintaining focus and driving tasks to completion.
* Extensive experience in managing and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
* A strong problem-solver, comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity.
* A passion for Customer Experience (CX) and User Experience (UX).
Location
This role can be based out of our Toowong or North Lakes office, but does require one day a week in the North Lakes office.
