This senior-level role will see you conceptualise, develop and deliver high-impact, evidence-based media and communications strategies that inform, influence, and engage diverse audiences across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic media and health promotion campaigns to drive awareness and behavioural change.
Provide communications advice and draft high-level material for the CEO and Executive, including speeches, key messages, and responses to emerging issues.
Develop and maintain media relationships and manage proactive / reactive media opportunities.
Design and implement communication strategies that support government priorities and uphold agency reputation.
Produce and publish high-quality content across traditional and digital platforms.
Monitor the media and policy landscape, advising senior leadership on key developments.
Build strong working relationships with ministerial and departmental communications teams.
About You
You're a communications leader with the strategic insight, political acumen, and written skills to deliver clear, engaging and high-quality messages on complex health topics. You bring :
Tertiary qualifications in media, communications, journalism or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years' experience in media relations, including strategy, issues management, and writing for senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work with or within government.
Experience in health, science, or medical communications is highly desirable.
A collaborative, proactive mindset and the ability to deliver under pressure.

Must hold or be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance .
This role may occasionally require after-hours availability for media engagement.
