About the Opportunities:
St John Ambulance (NSW) is seeking qualified and dynamic Trainer Assessors to join our team to deliver a broad range of First Aid and health-related courses across the Newcastle / Hunter areas.
About the Role:
As a Trainer Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality first aid and health courses to a diverse audience. Training sessions will be conducted at our premises, public course venues, and a range of corporate onsite workplaces.
We are seeking Casual Trainer Assessors who are proficient with technology and enthusiastic about integrating innovative methods into their teaching and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and effective first aid and health training courses to diverse groups
* Maintain a student-centred approach, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Use resources and other tools to support and enrich the learning experience
* Organise and prepare training materials independently
* Manage course schedules and adhere to timetables
* Assess students' progress through practical demonstrations, assessments, and written evaluations
* Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve and succeed
* Facilitate group discussions and encourage student participation to enhance understanding
* Address student queries and provide additional support where necessary
* Keep accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes in compliance with regulatory requirements
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations during training sessions
* Stay informed about developments in first aid, healthcare, and vocational education training
* Participate in professional development and ongoing training to maintain qualifications and industry currency
To be successful with your application you will need to be:
* Qualified Trainer and Assessor holding a Certificate IV TAE40116 or equivalent (or higher)
* Relevant experience in first aid, mental health, healthcare, or related fields
* Confident in using Microsoft Office, and enthusiastic about integrating technology into training Flexible, adaptable, and highly self-motivated

* Outstanding training and delivery skills
* Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and customer-facing skills
* Passionate about helping others in their learning and growth
* Highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented
* Comfortable and proficient with various technology platforms
* Hold a current NSW driver's licence and has access to a reliable vehicle
