Job Description:
As a telecommunications rigger, you will be able to install and upgrade telecommunications equipment in accordance with the specifications, standards and HSEQ guidelines. This includes, but not limited to;
* Install, dismantle upgrade and maintain masts, towers, poles and associated plant/communication equipment
* Operate vehicles and mechanical aids where a relevant ticket is held
* Terminate and install feeders, hybrids, waveguides and coaxial cable
* Under guidance of the Rigging Team Leader, haul and install waveguides, coaxial, hybrid feeders in the manufacturers approved manner
* Install underground duct, cables and earthing
* Assist Technicians in the installation, integration and testing of communication /service equipment
* Take charge of components of the project as directed by the team leader
* Undertake site and tower inspections in accordance with customer and company systems and processes
* Accurate and timely time-sheeting and management of leave/TOIL
* As part of a small team, be able to work away from home in remote areas for expanded periods
* Advising the Team Leader of problems on site, or where commitments made to clients may not be able to be met, and suggest solutions to overcome problems
* Ensuring adherence to company policies, regulations and all quality and safety requirements
* Ensuring that all data is entered accurately to all databases and in a timely and efficient manner
Requirements:
* Familiar with working across the different carrier networks (NBN Wireless, Telstra, Optus, TPG, etc)
* Applicable license and experience working out of elevated work platforms
* Working at heights in the installation of various telecommunications hardware and feeder cables on various type of structures (monopoles, towers, rooftops, etc.)
* Ability to climb structures, working safely and competently at heights of up to 100m
* Able to install, commission and integrate telecommunications equipment, including feeders and hybrid cables
* A demonstrated practical working knowledge of the relevant work practices and competency in the above functions as required.
* The ability to complete project activities in a safe and healthy manner, to work to instruction standards and in accordance with the project scope
