An opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant to step into a high-impact role supporting a complex group structure with strong governance, compliance, and stakeholder exposure.
This role is ideal for someone coming from a technical accounting and tax background who enjoys ownership, complexity, and working closely with senior finance leaders.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will play a key role in delivering statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial governance across a multi-entity group. You'll be hands-on while also influencing best practice across reporting, controls, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead preparation of annual financial statements (GPFS / SPFS), including full note disclosures
* Manage external audits and liaise with auditors and key stakeholders
* Own tax compliance across income tax, BAS, FBT, and indirect taxes
* Maintain and enhance tax governance frameworks, models, and risk registers
* Support monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasts, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal controls
* Provide technical accounting advice on complex and unusual transactions
About You
* CA / CPA qualified with strong technical accounting and corporate tax experience
* Proven background in financial statements, tax compliance, and audit management
* Comfortable working across trusts, partnerships, and group structures
* Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax legislation
* Confident communicator with the maturity to engage senior internal and external stakeholders
* Infrastructure, assets, or capital-intensive industry experience highly regarded
