About the position
The City of Tea Tree Gully is seeking a Building Officer with high-level skills to ensure that buildings are safe, energy efficient, and accessible for all.
The Building Officer role contributes to the efficient delivery of professional building advice and development assessment services to Council, developers, builders, State Government authorities, community members, and organisations. The Building Officer is required to ensure that Council's statutory obligations relating to the relevant legislation(s) are met. The Building Officer will also promote development that achieves a safe and compliant built environment in accordance with the National Construction Code, associated Australian Standards Legislation.
Position Description - Building Officer
It is essential that applicants:
* Are accredited by the Australian Institute of Building Surveying and/or the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) Accredited Professionals Scheme under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 as a Building Surveyor at Level 3 or above; or
* In the final year of study to achieve qualifications required to become accredited as a Building Surveyor Level 3
* Are a member with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (or willing to become a member)
* Hold a South Australian Class C Driver's Licence
* Hold Prepare to work Safely in the Construction Industry (WhiteCard)
* Are willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment and Police Check.

Salary range is between $100,066 - $104,146 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications.
