Western Australia represents significant opportunity for our business.
We are seeking a commercially driven State Sales Manager - WA to take ownership of the region and lead the next phase of expansion.
This role is suited to someone who thrives on building markets, winning new business, and establishing strong commercial partnerships.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Non-Grocery, you will own and execute the WA growth strategy.
You will own and deliver the WA state sales budget (volume, revenue, margin), develop and execute state-specific growth plans across Retail (independent & banners), Foodservice, QSR, Mining, industrial, and remote customers. Identify new business opportunities (new accounts, new channels, white space), drive distribution gains, ranging, and shelf execution in line with national strategy.
This is a genuine build-and-expand mandate with clear growth expectations and strong national backing. You will operate with autonomy and accountability, supported by a collaborative internal team and national supply capability.
What You'll Do
* Drive new business acquisition across WA.
* Expand distribution and increase market presence in key channels.
* Lead commercial negotiations, including tenders and trading agreements.
* Develop and execute a clear state growth strategy.
* Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
* Maintain disciplined forecasting and S&OP alignment.
* Lead with energy, ownership and commercial focus.
* Act as the senior escalation point for major account issues.
* Tailor commercial strategies to WA market dynamics (freight, remoteness, customer mix).
* Represent the business professionally with customers, industry partners, and distributors.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with: Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance & Operations.
* Lead negotiations for state-level agreements within delegation of authority.
About You
You are commercially competitive and growth-oriented.
You bring:
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience within Independent Grocery and/or Wholesale markets
* A proven track record of delivering new business wins
* Strong negotiation capability and commercial confidence
* Clear understanding of margin, volume and P&L drivers
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
* Ability to travel within WA and interstate
