The Role
EDGE is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Canberra office.
This role is ideal for a structural engineer with 2 years consulting experience, particularly within residential housing and low-rise development projects.
You will work alongside senior engineers delivering structural design solutions for residential housing, townhouse developments and custom homes across the ACT region.
Projects You'll Work On
• Detached residential housing
• Subdivisions
• Townhouse and medium density developments
• Residential extensions and alterations
• Low-rise residential buildings
• Projects delivered with leading residential builders and architects
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver structural design solutions for residential construction projects
• Prepare engineering calculations and structural analysis
• Assist with preliminary and detailed structural design
• Produce technical reports, sketches and documentation
• Coordinate with architects, builders and project teams
• Work with drafting teams to produce construction drawings
• Attend site inspections and respond to construction queries
• Participate in internal design reviews and QA processes
Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 3–6 years experience in a structural engineering consultancy
• Experience in residential structural design
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and residential construction methods
• Experience using SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT or similar analysis software
• Ability to produce engineering calculations and design documentation
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Interest in progressing toward Chartered Engineer status
