Electrical Maintenance Technician (Preventative & Reactive Maintenance) Location: Brisbane Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Commercial & Retail Facilities Maintenance About the Role We are seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician to deliver preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial and retail facilities, including petroleum service stations, banks, supermarkets, and government buildings. This role focuses on maintaining electrical systems to ensure safety, compliance, reliability, and asset longevity. The successful candidate will work across multiple operational sites performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, testing, and minor corrective works in accordance with Australian Standards and WHS requirements. Key Responsibilities Carry out scheduled preventative electrical maintenance in accordance with site maintenance programs Perform reactive maintenance and fault finding when required Inspect, test, and maintain: Main switchboards and distribution boards Lighting and general power circuits Emergency and exit lighting systems RCDs and protective devices Conduct testing, tagging, and electrical safety inspections Identify potential faults and recommend corrective actions Perform minor electrical repairs and corrective works Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, WHS legislation, and site-specific safety procedures Complete accurate service reports, testing documentation, and compliance records Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and compliance personnel Work independently across multiple sites while maintaining high safety and quality standards Essential Requirements Current Australian Electrical Licence White Card Current Driver's Licence Experience in commercial and/or retail electrical maintenance environments Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and compliance requirements Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites Police Check Australian Standards & Compliance All work must comply with, but is not limited to: AS/NZS 3000 - Electrical Installations (Wiring Rules) AS/NZS 3019 - Electrical Installations - Periodic Assessment AS/NZS 3760 - In-service Safety Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment AS/NZS 2293 - Emergency Lighting and Exit Signs WHS Act & Regulations (Australia) Desirable Emergency lighting accreditation Experience in petroleum or hazardous area environments Previous work on government or critical infrastructure sites WPCG / petroleum industry experience If this sounds like a role you would be interested in and can work full time then please apply or email scottc@harrisonbarratt.com.au for more details.
