The purpose of the Business Sales Consultant (New Business) is to achieve acquisition sales targets through prospecting and converting leads into new customers and delivering on the business objectives.
**The Role**
The purpose of the Business Sales Consultant (New Business) is to achieve acquisition sales targets through prospecting and converting leads into new customers and delivering on the business objectives.
The role currently has a WA state based focus, is telephone-based outbound sales, and is required to prospect business customers for supply of their energy (electricity and natural gas) needs. This role is based in Murdoch.
**The Duties**
- Achieve growth sales targets through sales planning, identification, prospecting and execution of new natural gas and electricity contracts, for small business customers. This will involve, but is not limited to, cold calling.
- Execution of structured outbound sales campaigns as implemented by the Business Sales Leader, and measure effectiveness/conversion of campaign.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of plans to acquire budgeted customer growth, both volume and margin.
- Pipeline Management - build a pipeline through registering leads and report on the status of all prospects in the customer pipeline, including future opportunities.
- Develop effective verbal & written sales techniques to deliver on sales conversion targets.
- Balance the tension of customer numbers vs margin/profitability to achieve business goals.
- Accurately prepare and present contract documents and client proposals.
- Provide monthly reports on to the Business Sales Leader including, Customer activity, Competitor activity and Various performance reports.
- Participate in regular meetings to review results, set strategies and determine business plans related to assigned clients.
**Required Skills and Experience**
- A degree qualification in business or related field is not necessary, but highly desirable.
- Strong experience in telephone based sales, service or customer operations environment, with a strong sales performance and customer service focus.
- Ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in an intensely competitive environment
- Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills (verbal & written).
- Self motivated team player, with good planning and time management.
