**Marine Fitting Apprenticeship**
Austal are looking for enthusiastic hands-on people who are ready to be a part of Australia's leading strategic shipbuilder for Defence. Austal is committed to the training and development of future apprentices, and we need you to continue to grow our 2050 strategic plan
**Task's Involved**
- Follow technical drawings as well as 3D model for accurate installation of equipment and systems.
- Install mechanical equipment on vessel (main engines, generators, gear boxes, pumps, shafts, Propellers, compressors, hydraulic power packs etc).
- Manufacturing and install of piping systems on vessel (diesel fuel, hydraulics, fire main, Argonite, compressed air, refrigeration, domestics etc).
- HVAC (air conditioning) Ducting install.
- Pipe and tube manufacturing (workshop environment and on vessel)
- Pressure testing.
- Vessel commissioning and sea trials.
- Ensures work practices, workspace and colleagues conform to Austal Safety procedures and policies.
- Shows evidence of self-checking work.
- Keeps the work area clean and tidy without prompting from supervisor.
- Complete quality inspection documents (system inspections).
