We specialise in providing electrical, instrumentation, control systems and project management services to the mining, mineral processing and infrastructure industries. Our focus is on providing exceptional quality work to our growing client base. Paradigm Engineers in combination with our parent company Mipac, is the largest mining focused systems integrator in Australia.
We are growing our Perth team to support our strong pipeline of work including a number of large projects and are actively seeking experienced Senior and Lead Control Systems Engineers to join our team.
About the opportunity Our current projects include design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation for brownfield and greenfield mining, materials handling, mineral processing and port facilities.
Key responsibilities
Control System Design: Design, develop, and implement control systems solutions for mining, mineral processing, and infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet industry standards and client requirements.
PLC and SCADA Programming: Utilise your PLC and SCADA programming experience to create efficient and reliable control systems.
Technical Leadership: Take full technical ownership of control system scope within projects, directing and mentoring a team of engineers to deliver technical excellence and drive successful project outcomes.
Documentation: Independently produce technical documentation including reports, specifications, procedures, and manuals to a high standard.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication, project alignment, and successful outcomes.
Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, fostering their professional growth within the company.
Site and Commissioning Support: Lead and oversee site visits and commissioning activities, taking accountability for ensuring control systems are delivered and perform as designed in real-world environments.

Our ideal candidates will demonstrate most or all of the following
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or related Engineering.
Relevant PLC Programming Experience (e.g. Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, GE).
Relevant SCADA Programming Experience (e.g. Citect, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Cimplicity).
Substantive Australian mining industry experience.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and develop control systems designs based on these and other design inputs.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients, in writing and in person.
Good organisational, time‑management and decision‑making capabilities.
Experience with mineral processing plants.
Experience with bulk materials handling.
Experience with mobile machines: stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders and associated stockyard systems.
Other technology related skills: IT/OT network design concepts, virtualised computing environments, advanced Microsoft Windows and Office capabilities, Linux, IoT, containerisation, other programming skills (e.g. VBA, Powershell, C, Python).
Functional safety qualifications and/or experience.
