Our client, headquartered offshore, is a Global market leading manufacturer with local revenue of circa $1billion, it has multiple manufacturing sites throughout our country and employs thousands of Australians.
The company has recently been through an exciting restructure and seeks to appoint a competent executive who will report direct to the Executive General Manager.
This position is responsible for all Engineering (plant replacement, layout etc), Project Management (new equipment, major upgrades etc) and Maintenance (predictive, preventative and emergency)on a critical site in the Penrith area. You will also champion and manage the replacement of external contractors by recruiting your own engineering team.
The role is not for a beginner, rather, it is only suited to someone who has held a Project/Engineering Managers role in a substantial organisation. We expect the successful applicant to hold an Engineering qualification and any additional studies would be well regarded. You will be pragmatic, business minded and used to working in a high pressure situation.
There is an immediate major project for you to take control of and this involves the total replacement and layout of tens of millions of dollars worth of capital manufacturing equipment.
The position will appeal to someone who is creative, strategic by nature; what you might term a "fresh thinker" always looking to find alternative approaches to increasing the efficiency of a business.
