Overview
Join to apply for the Survey Manager role at DT Infrastructure. This is a site-based role on the Goulburn River Solar Project with a 2/1 roster, with accommodation and allowances provided as applicable. Reporting to the PD, the Survey Manager is responsible for leading and managing all surveying activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all stages of project delivery. This role oversees the survey team, manages survey control and data integrity, and provides technical expertise to support engineering, construction, and quality assurance functions.
Responsibilities
* Plan and execute survey works in alignment with the project schedule, ensuring survey outputs meet construction milestones on the critical path.
* Monitor survey workload and resource allocation to avoid delays and ensure continuity of construction operations.
* Provide accurate as-built data and verification reports to facilitate progressive handover and commissioning.
* Ensure survey data meets contractual accuracy requirements and complies with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
* Implement robust QA/QC processes for survey control, set-out, and as-built deliverables.
* Identify and rectify variances or non-conformances promptly, mitigating rework risks.
* Manage survey resources efficiently, balancing internal capacity with subcontractor support where required.
* Identify opportunities to optimise survey processes (e.g., UAV/drone mapping, automated data capture) to reduce project costs and increase productivity.
* Track and report survey resource utilisation against budget allowances.
* Maintain survey risk registers, identifying and mitigating risks associated with accuracy, technology, site conditions, or resourcing.
About You / Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Surveying, Geospatial Science, or related discipline.
* Minimum 7-10 years of civil construction surveying experience, preferably on utility-scale solar or infrastructure projects.
* Proficiency in surveying instruments and software (e.g., Leica, Trimble, AutoCAD Civil 3D, 12d, or similar).
* Strong understanding of earthworks processes and structural layout requirements.
* Ability to manage and direct a survey team; interpret technical drawings, specifications, and digital terrain models.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy in survey measurement and data handling.
* Valid driver's license and ability to work in a remote or regional project setting.
* White Card (Construction Induction) required.
* Previous experience on renewable energy projects or solar farms.
* Familiarity with machine control systems and survey data integration.
* UAV/drone survey experience is a plus.
