**Maintenance Officer**
**About the role**
We are currently seeking a maintenance officer to assist with the general upkeep, maintenance and repair work at Frankston Nursing Home. You will be responsible for providing effective maintenance skills by ensuring that our facility is maintained to a high standard in accordance with Meracare's Values.
Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for a range of both preventative and corrective maintenance duties right across the facility including equipment and plant monitoring and accurate, timely reporting with regard to maintenance.
You day might consist of:
- Maintaining plant, equipment, building and services.
- Ensure up-to-date records of all chemicals in use and compliance with appropriate safety best practice.
- Identify preventative maintenance requirements, complete the works and documentation of schedules and preventative and corrective maintenance is actioned within legal requirements and are documented in the relevant registers.
**About you**
As a collaborative compassionate staff member, ideally with experience within the health and/or aged care sector, you'll have:
- Trade based qualification or more than 1 years' experience in a commercial maintenance position.
- General hands-on maintenance or handyman skills.
- Current Victorian driver license.
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety Act and regulatory maintenance frameworks relating to residential aged care.
- To participate in an on-call roster for after-hours breakdowns.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Requirement to meet the position and qualification requirements.
- Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
